Researchers in Denmark say that yellow markings on the eyelids are a sign of increased risk of heart attack and other illness.
A study showed patients with xanthelasmata (which are mostly made up of cholesterol) were 48% more likely to have a heart attack.
For both men and women in several age groups, the data said there was one in five chance of developing heart disease in the next decade if the patient had xanthelasmata.
However they warned that today, most people with xanthelasmata are seen by dermatologists.
In my case, these yellow marks don’t affect me, as I don’t have any similar mark in my body. But I know some people have this one in their face, which is very strange, because I didn’t ever think that it can risk you of a heart attack.
However, I know people next to me that they have been some heart attacks, which they haven’t got these yellow marks. The nature is very strange and difficult to understand!
